- VMI is looking for its first season sweep of Virginia Tech since 1962.
- Shortstop Jacob Jaye saw his run of reaching base end at 23 straight games Sunday. His hitting streak had been stopped at 15 straight contests the day before. Both were season-highs for a VMI player.
- Collin Fleischer hit three home runs in the Furman series to give him 14 on the year, and tie him for third on VMI’s all-time single season listing.
- Jack Gomersall made his 30th appearance of the year Sunday, becoming just the second Keydet pitcher ever to hit that plateau in a single season.
- Regardless of the final weekend’s outcomes, VMI and The Citadel will face off in the SoCon Tourney’s play-in game on May 24 at 10 a.m.
