Three spaces remain in new Waynesboro YMCA youth strength, endurance training program
The Waynesboro YMCA is rolling out a new strength and endurance training program for youth aged 7-11 years old on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-5 p.m. at the YMCA.
The program begins this week and runs through Dec. 10 and is targeted for athletes transitioning from fall to winter sports. The five-week introductory session (no classes Thanksgiving week) is at an introductory rate, and the Y be requesting feedback from the participants to help direct future programming in this area.
The program cost is $20 for Childcare participants, $30 for Y members, and $60 for Program Members.
The program is led by a Certified Personal Trainer from the National Council on Strength & Fitness, Tina Ruszala. Ruszala also leads the Y’s Home School PE programming and is the proud mother of three active athletic children that swim SMAC and play basketball at the Y.
Tuesday’s sessions will take place in the Group Fitness room and Thursday’s sessions will be in the downstairs gymnasium.
The class will focus on developmentally appropriate, enjoyable, and diverse activities designed to build endurance and strength for the participants.
