marietta mccartyAuthor’s Luncheon and Book Signing – What About Love?
Saturday, August 23 at 12:00pm – 2:30pm
stone soup books and Cafe
908 W Main St., Waynesboro VA 22980

Author Marietta McCarty teams up, in an ongoing series, with stone soup books for lunch, laughter, and philosophizing in the charming atmosphere of this cafe/bookshop. Marietta will join diners as she rotates among tables, circling from noon to 2:00 p.m.

Corn! Peaches! Love! Chef Laura will prepare specialties to complement Southern fare, as Kentucky is the setting for the August chapter in The Philosopher’s Table titled “What About Love?” The lunch bell rings for $10. Menu includes Cold Soup Shots, Ham Biscuits with Laura B’s famous biscuits, Corn and Bean Salad and Peach Hand Pie. Most food will be locally sourced. Or select a lunch entree, dessert of the day, coffee or tea and lively discussion as we dig together for the meaning of love.

Reservations for lunch are recommended due to limited seating. From 2:00-2:30 p.m., Marietta will sign books while chatting with her lunch dates as well as members of the community arriving after lunch. In addition to The Philosopher’s Table, Stone Soup will also have Marietta’s first two books for sale – Little Big Minds: Sharing Philosophy with Kids (a New York Times bestseller) and How Philosophy can Save Your Life: 10 Ideas That Matter Most (winner of a Nautilus Book Award).
