Street milling, paving in Staunton next week

staunton3The Staunton Department of Public Works will begin milling operations the week of April 28.  Paving will start the week of May 5.

The exact date, time and sequence of work are not known and may vary, in any event, due to operational delays and weather.  Motorists should expect delays, limitations on access to on-street parking and detours for up to four weeks.  Use of alternate routes is recommended.  Please allow extra time to reach your destination and drive safely, keeping the safety of workers in mind.

Streets scheduled to be milled and paved include:

  • Dogwood Road from Edgewood Road to Coalter Street
  • Jackson Street from Reservoir Street to Stuart Street
  • Summerson Street from Stuart Street to Dead End
  • Intersection of Statler Boulevard and Richmond Road
  • Intersection of Frontier Drive and Richmond Road
  • Frederick Street from Madison Street to West Beverley Street
  • Houston Street from Mason Street to East Beverley Street
  • Winthrop Street from Hampton Street to Sears Hill Road
  • Campbell Street from Greenville Avenue to New Subdivision
  • Coalter Street from Statler Boulevard to Commerce Street
  • Churchville Avenue from Spaulding Street to “A” Street
  • Montgomery Street from West Beverley Street to Dead End
  • Baptist Street from Sunnyside Street to Caroline Street
  • Parkview Avenue from Preston Drive to Cut at Top of Hill
  • Greenway Road from Top of Hill to Shenandoah Street
  • Woodland Drive from Dead End to Four Lanes
  • Barristers Row from New Street to Augusta Street
  • Cedar Street from Grubert Avenue to “D” Street
  • State Street from Coalter Street to Greenville Avenue
