Chris Graham

road work transportationImprovements to the intersection of Route 612 (Laurel Hill Road) and Route 792 (Indian Mound Road) begin this week in Augusta County near Verona. The project will improve sight distance, add a left turn lane on Route 612, and remove the “Y” configuration of Route 792 as it approaches the intersection. Razor Blade Lane, the entrance to AccuTec Blades Inc., will also be relocated.

Lane closures with flagger traffic control are possible Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During other times, motorists should be alert for shoulder closures and construction vehicles moving in and out of the work zone.

On June 29, 2016, VDOT awarded a $974,601.96 construction contract to Haley, Chisholm & Morris Inc. of Earlysville, Virginia. The Route 612/792 project is scheduled for completion in spring 2017. All work is weather permitting.

More information on the project is at this link: Augusta County – Route 612/792 Intersection.
