Highland/Bath Meals on Wheels kitchen opening delayed

AFP

secondwindlogoThe upgrading of the kitchen at the Highland Inn is taking longer than anticipated. Initially it was thought that the kitchen would be closed the week of April 6 and would reopen the week of April 13. it is now anticipated that the kitchen will not be open and fully functioning until the week of April 20.

Gaynelle Siron, Meals on Wheels kitchen manager, said Meals on Wheels recipients in Bath and Highland will receive two frozen meals on Monday, April 13. The next meal delivery to recipients will be on Thursday, April 16.

Meals on Wheels recipients in the McDowell/Headwaters area will not receive meals the week of April 13. They will receive double meals the week of April 20.

Volunteer delivery drivers in both Bath and Highland Counties will pick up meals at the regular time on April 13 and 16. Highland volunteers will pick up meals at the back door of the kitchen at the Highland Inn.

Please direct questions and concerns to Gaynelle Siron, 540-468-1975 or Harmony Leonard, 540-468-2178.
