James Madison men’s basketball will continue its 2010-11 season after receiving a spot in the College Basketball Invitational presented by Zebra Pen. The Dukes will travel to Davidson for a 7 p.m. game on Tuesday, March 15.

The game will be televised on HDNet. The winner between JMU and Davidson advances in the 16-team field to meet the winner between San Jose State and Creighton in the quarterfinals on March 21. The semifinals are slated for March 23 with the championship falling on March 28, March 30 and April 1 in a best-of-three format.

In the other opening-round games of the CBI, Duquesne travels to Montana, Weber State is at Oregon, Austin Peay visits Boise State, Evansville hosts Hofstra, Rhode Island welcomes Miami (Ohio), and UCF is at home against St. Bonaventure.

JMU went 21-11 this season while going 10-8 and finishing sixth in the Colonial Athletic Association. Davidson went 16-14 overall and placed fourth in the South Division of the Southern Conference with a 10-8 league record.

The Dukes will be playing in the postseason for the second time in three years under head coach Matt Brady. In 2008-09, JMU qualified for the CollegeInsiders.com Tournament (CIT) and advanced to the semifinals before falling to eventual champion Old Dominion. Last year fellow CAA member VCU won the CBI with six of last year’s 16 squads earning bids to the 2011 NCAA field of 68.
