10:58 p.m. That’s a wrap. The race in the 11th will clearly be too close to call tonight. Democrat Gerry Connolly leads Republican Keith Fimian by 912 votes. Bobby Scott (D-Third) and Jim Moran (D-Eighth) hold onto their seats. Incumbents losing seats tonight: Glenn Nye (D-Second), Tom Perriello (D-Fifth), Rick Boucher (D-Ninth). GOP incumbents winning tonight: Rob Wittman (R-First), Randy Forbes (R-Fourth), Bob Goodlatte (R-Sixth), Eric Cantor (R-Seventh), Frank Wolf (R-Tenth).
Scorecard: Going into today, Virginia’s 11 congressional seats were divided 6-5 Democrat-Republican. Going into tomorrow, it’s 8-2 Republican with the 11th leaning ever so slightly Democratic.
10:46 p.m. All done in the Fifth. Republican Robert Hurt wins by 8,680 votes. Hurt gets 50.75 percent, Tom Perriello gets 47.05 percent, independent Jeffrey Clark gets 2.11 percent.
10:30 p.m. Perspective in the Fifth: Tom Perriello won Charlottesville-Albemarle by 14,700 votes. Robert Hurt wins overall by 8,600 votes.
10:27 p.m. Five precincts left to report in the 11th – Gerry Connolly leads Keith Fimian by 696 votes.
10 p.m. Eight precincts left to report in the 11th – Gerry Connolly leads Keith Fimian by 481 votes.

9:59 p.m. With 12 precincts left to report in the 11th, Gerry Connolly leads Keith Fimian by 1,242 votes.
9:50 p.m. With 19 precincts still to report in the 11th, Gerry Connolly holds a 167-vote lead 0ver Keith Fimian. This one won’t be over tonight either way.
9:46 p.m. Tightening again in 11th: The Gerry Connolly lead over Keith Fimian is down from 3,000 votes to 416 votes.
9:35 p.m. Connolly surging in 11th: It’s been a back-and-forth race most of the night, but the most recent update on the Virginia State Board of Elections website has given Democrat Gerry Connolly a 3,300-vote lead over Republican Keith Fimian.
9:32 p.m. All over but the cryin’ We basically have our numbers in the Fifth. It’s currently at an 8,500-vote margin for Robert Hurt, and will likely end up around a 9,000-vote win. Rick Boucher will lose to Morgan Griffith by 8,500 to 9,000 votes.
9:24 p.m. Perspective: At 6:59 tonight, Democrats had six seats representing Virginia in Congress. At 7, they had two, with a third still up in the air.
9:08 p.m. Montgomery goes for Boucher … by 1,500 votes. With emphasis: Rick Boucher is done.
9:02 p.m. Bad, bad news for Boucher: Rick Boucher won Montgomery County by 10,000 votes in 2006. With 18 of the 23 precincts there reporting, he leads there tonight by just over 300. That one is over. Morgan Griffith wins in a huge, huge upset.
9:01 p.m. Fifth update: All but two precincts in Albemarle in, and the final Charlottesville precinct is in. Tom Perriello wins those areas by a combined 12,500 votes, but still trails districtwide by 9,500 votes.
8:48 p.m. Over in the Ninth? I wouldn’t say so just yet. Rick Boucher trails by 10,000 votes, but localities with votes still yet to be reported went for Boucher in 2006 by a combined 16,000 votes.
8:36 p.m. Fifth update: Tom Perriello won Charlottesville by 7,400 votes and leads in Albemarle by 2,500 votes with half of Albemarle’s precincts yet to report. Still trailing by 12,000 votes overall. Turn out the lights, the party’s over.
8:31 p.m. Hmmm … I’m now projecting Robert Hurt to win by 10,000 votes in the Fifth.
8:23 p.m. Gut call in the Fifth: Close, but no cigar for Tom Perriello.
8:20 p.m. Hope for Boucher in the Ninth: Rick Boucher won Montgomery County in ’06 by 10,000 votes. Nothing reported from Montgomery yet, and Boucher trails Morgan Griffith by 11,000 votes.
8:14 p.m. Reasoning the Fifth: Tom Perriello beat Virgil Goode by 13,000 votes in Albemarle County in 2008. Only two of the 29 precincts reporting tonight. Perriello has a 4,400-vote lead over Robert Hurt in Charlottesville with four of the nine precincts reporting. That race is not over yet.
8:10 p.m. The Easy Calls: Rob Wittman (R) in the First, Bobby Scott (D) in the Third, Randy Forbes (R) in the Fourth, Bob Goodlatte (R) in the Sixth, Eric Cantor (R) in the Seventh, Jim Moran (D) in the Eighth, Frank Wolf (R) in the 10th.
8:01 p.m. Griffith still strong in Ninth: With 59 percent of the precincts reporting, Morgan Griffith leads Rick Boucher by 8,800 votes (52.9 percent-44.7 percent).
7:55 p.m. Upset in Ninth? With over half of the precincts reporting, Morgan Griffith maintains a healthy lead over long-time incumbent Rick Boucher – 53.4 percent-44.2 percent.
7:50 p.m. Hope for Tom? Tom Perriello has a 2,400-vote lead over Robert Hurt in the two precincts (of nine) in Charlottesville that have reported. Perriello is getting 80 percent of the vote in Charlottesville so far. He needs that trend to continue to make up the 9,000-vote deficit he is facing right now in the districtwide reporting.
7:44 p.m. Wave: With 35 percent of the precincts in the Fifth reporting, Robert Hurt leads Tom Perriello 53.6 percent-44.2 percent. In the Ninth, Morgan Griffith leads Rick Boucher 54.4 percent-43.1 percent with 32 percent of the precincts reporting.
7:37 p.m. Goodlatte is cruisin’ As expected. The Republican is pulling 76 percent in his three-way race. The battle is for second between independent Jeff Vanke (13 percent) and Libertarian Stuart Bain (8 percent).
7:33 p.m. Scanning the state: Morgan Griffith has the early lead over Democratic incumbent Rick Boucher in the Ninth; nothing from the 11th, where Democrat Gerry Connolly appears to be in big trouble in his race with Keith Fimian.
7:28 p.m. Hurt surge: Robert Hurt gets a big bump in Pittsylvania County and now leads by 5,400 votes with 18 percent of the precincts reporting. It’s Hurt 56.4 percent to Perriello 41.3 percent.
7:23 p.m. Look-in at the Fifth District race: With 13 of the 309 precincts reporting, Republican Robert Hurt leads Democrat Tom Perriello by around 200 votes, 3,372 to 3,189, or 50.3 percent to 47.6 percent. Tea Party candidate Jeffrey Clark is pulling 1.9 percent.
