Augusta County: Route 796 closed April 1–25 for culvert replacement

road work transportationPart of Route 796 (Kiddsville Road) in Augusta County is scheduled to close Monday, April 1, for a culvert replacement. The road will be closed to through traffic 24/7 between Route 608 (Long Meadow Road) and Route 795 (Entry School Road). Route 796 is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, April 25. All work is weather permitting.

Residents will have access to properties on either side of the work zone, which is about a quarter-mile south of the intersection with Route 795. Through traffic will be detoured as follows:

  • Southbound traffic will go west on Route 795 and then south on Route 608 to return to Route 796.
  • Northbound traffic will go north on Route 608 and then east on Route 795 to return to Route 796.
