The forecasted frigid temperatures have knocked out EMU baseball’s season opener. After postponing Saturday’s doubleheader against Penn State-Altoona, the Royals have announced a makeup date of this coming Thursday.
Game time is still set for noon, with the first game slated for seven innings while the nightcap will be a full nine.
If the precipitation early in the week doesn’t affect the field too much, the Royals will play twinbills on three of four days, as they also host Juniata on Saturday followed by Mt. St. Vincent on Sunday.
EMU finished 16-18 last fall, going 10-10 in the conference to qualify for the ODAC Tournament for the first time since 2002.
