Stone Soup regulars have, upon occasion, seen Zack manning the BIG GREEN EGG, while wife Chef Laura puts the finishing touches on the summer evening’s grilled delicacies. Reaching back to its ancient roots, Valentine’s Day Friday Evening at Stone Soup Books & Cafe will be traditional Italian and Old World European. Food, music, and atmosphere will weave the Valentine traditions into an unforgettable evening.
CONNIE MUSCENTI, on piano and concertina, and THOMAS GUNN, London-born multi-instrumentalist, have performed together in a variety of venues over the years. For this special evening they promise a delightful, romantic mix of traditional Italian music and Old World melodies, along with some of Gunn’s original songs. You might be surprised where the music takes us for the evening…. a rustic trattoria along the Amalfi coast, to a café in Eastern Europe or perhaps a discreet bistro in the heart of Paris.

Noted for their musical inventiveness and humorous repartee, The Red Drum Ramblers defy the listener to keep feet from moving, fingers from snapping, and hands from clapping. Sometimes these Ramblers invite listeners to join them in a “sing-a-long.”

Rupert Wates, born in London and moved to the USA in 2006 is a newcomer to the Stone Soup venue. For decades he has been a full-time singer/songwriter. Rupert plays over 120 shows a year and has performed in every state in America. His music is played in radio stations not only in the USA, but also Canada, The Netherlands, Germany, Israel, and Australia. A January, 2012 review states “What a privilege to explore the musical and poetic mind of this profound songwriter….He’s a wonderful guitarist and singer, and presents an immensely appealing repertoire.”
