Nightime closure of I-66 off-ramp off I-81 scheduled for Sept. 10

i81-headerThe off-ramp that carries Interstate 66 westbound traffic to I-81 southbound will have a brief closure on the night of Wednesday, September 10, 2014. This closure at the Frederick/Warren county line is scheduled for 8 p.m. to 12 midnight, weather permitting. It will allow crews to install pavement markings for driver safety.

Westbound I-66 drivers needing to access I-81 southbound will detour onto I-81 northbound to exit 302 (Middletown). Traffic will turn left onto Route 627 (Reliance Road), cross the interstate bridge and turn left onto I-81 southbound.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.

Traffic alerts and traveler information can be obtained by dialing 511 and at 511Virginia.org. For other assistance call the VDOT Customer Service Center 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Citizens can dial 1-800-FOR- ROAD (1-800-367-7623) from anywhere in the state to report road hazards, ask transportation questions, or get information related to Virginia’s roads.
