Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe announced Tuesday that his campaign raised $1.15 million in just 27 days, giving him a strong start to his campaign. The early support came from more than 1,400 donations, 70% of which were for under $100. The McAuliffe campaign ended the year with just over $1 million on hand.
“Terry is grateful for the grassroots support from across Virginia,” said Josh Schwerin, spokesperson for the McAuliffe campaign. “It’s clear that voters want a Governor looking for mainstream ideas to grow the economy and make the Commonwealth more attractive to business instead of wasting time on divisive ideological battles.”
