The Waynesboro School Board announced the appointment of Joshua Herndon as principal of Kate Collins Middle School at the Tuesday, May 8 School Board meeting.
Herndon will become principal of Kate Collins Middle School on July 1, 2018.
Herndon began his career in 2008 teaching high school social studies in Augusta County. In 2015, he joined Waynesboro Schools as assistant principal at Westwood Hills Elementary School, and moved to Kate Collins Middle School as assistant principal in 2017.
Herndon has a bachelor of science in education from Kent State University and a master’s degree from Walden University. He received his certification in educational leadership administration and supervision at James Madison University.
Dr. Jeffrey Cassell, Superintendent of Schools, said: “Mr. Herndon is skilled in developing strong student centered programs and building attitudes that promote positive citizenship. Mr. Herndon has excellent communication skills and exceptional listening skills which will support collaborative team building. Mr. Herndon will continue to provide our students, teachers, and the community of Kate Collins Middle School with a focus on student achievement, discipline, and strong communication.”
His wife, Eleanor, is a teacher at Wenonah Elementary School and they have two children.
