The Virginia State Police is seeking the public’s assistance with an ongoing stolen vehicle investigation in the City of Waynesboro.

Trooper J.T. Lotts is investigating the theft of a silver 2000 Mercedes C-230 from the Park & Ride parking lot on Tuesday at approximately 7:37 p.m. When the owner of the Mercedes, a Waynesboro male, showed up at the lot at Exit 94 along Interstate 64 on March 27, 2019, he discovered his vehicle was missing.

Security footage obtained from a nearby business confirmed the time and date the vehicle was stolen. The video also revealed how the Mercedes was taken: the Mercedes was loaded onto a car dolly that was attached to an older-model Chevrolet Blazer. The Blazer then left the lot with the Mercedes in tow and a newer-model, black Dodge Ram following closely behind.

Anyone with information about these vehicles and/or may have seen the silver Mercedes being loaded onto the trailer is encouraged to call the Virginia State Police at 434-352-7128 or #77 on a cell phone or by email to [email protected].
