Accident closes Route 872 in Rockingham County for bridge repair

road-work-headerRoute 872 (Hightown Lane) is closed near the intersection with Route 619 (Simmers Valley Road) in the Linville area of Rockingham County. A vehicle crash this afternoon caused damage to a small bridge next to the intersection.

Route 872 will remain closed until Virginia Department of Transportation crews repair the bridge. Work should be complete on Friday, May 6, weather permitting. Signs will direct motorists on a detour route.
