On August 2 the Beverley Street Studio School Gallery opens an exhibit by acclaimed painter Russ Warren. Titled “A Little Night Music,” the exhibition will feature Warren’s latest works that showcase a relationship between art and music.
In Warren’s artist statement he states, “A Little Night Music (Eine Kleine Nachtmusik or Serenade for Night, W.A. Mozart, 1787) is a piece which parallels the many pictures I create which conquer the distance between dusk and dawn. Day and night, heaven and hell, polar opposites all display the dichotomy that allows us to see some truth through the eclipse and shadow which engulfs us. Paint and music play equally in this arena of dreams and provide the stage for the brush to hopefully weave its bristles we call night.”
The exhibit will open from 5:30 – 7:30pm on August 2, with an Artist’s Talk featured at 6pm. The exhibit will be available for viewing in the BSSS Gallery (located at 22 West Beverley Street) until September 15.
About Beverley Street Studio School
Beverley Street Studio School (BSSS) was founded in 1992 by a group of artists who sought to establish a studio art school that would provide an opportunity for those in the region to engage in art training in a collaborative and nurturing fashion. BSSS has adopted as its mission “providing the community and region with a variety of opportunities to explore the world of the visual arts through practice, professional instruction, and contact with practicing artists.” It is unique in that it is the only studio school located outside a major metropolitan area.
