Still think that campaign money isn’t important at the end of an election cycle? A look at what Terry McAuliffe is doing lately on TV might sway you to think otherwise.

The Democrat’s campaign is releasing a new TV ad daily. The latest, as of this writing, is titled “Future Holds,” and highlights controversial comments made by Republican opponent Ken Cuccinelli that were reported this week.

At a forum last year, Cuccinelli said that “God does judge nations, it’s amazing that abortion has run as far and foully as it has, without what I would consider to be a greater imposition of judgment on this country. Who knows what the future holds?”

“Ken Cuccinelli refuses to explain what he meant by his offensive comments or what particular punishment he feels America deserves,” said McAuliffe spokesperson Josh Schwerin. “What is clear though is that Ken Cuccinelli would bring his radical agenda into the governor’s office to attempt to outlaw abortion even in cases of rape, incest or when the woman’s health is in danger.”

Two ads released on Monday hit on similar themes. “Actions” continues the McAuliffe campaign theme that the attorney general is too ideologically extreme to be governor, and “New Low” accuses Cuccinelli of trying to distract attention from his own ethics issues by launching misleading attacks at McAuliffe.
