road-work-headerEmergency repair work on a washed-out portion of Route 39 (Maury River Road) in Rockbridge County began  mid-day Saturday. Contractors will work around the clock, and hope to have the road back open on Thursday (June 26, 2014). All work is weather permitting.

Heavy rains on Friday evening damaged Route 39 in the Goshen area, between Route 780 (Brattons Run) and Route 623 (Farm House Lane).

A detour route has been established. Westbound Route 39 traffic should take Route 11 south in the Lexington area to Interstate 64 west to exit 43 onto Route 780 to Route 39. Eastbound traffic should take Route 780 to I-64 east to exit 55 onto Route 11 to Route 39.
