policeA Staunton man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of a 13-year-old male in April.

Steven W. Glenn Sr., 34, was arrested Tuesday night without incident.

The unnamed victim was found at a home in the 4100 block of Spring Hill Road in Augusta County near Staunton on April 21. He had been hit with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators from the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office processed the scene and continued to investigate the death, which occurred under suspicious circumstances.

An autopsy was later conducted by the Office of the Medical Examiner in Roanoke.  The cause of death was listed as a homicide.

Further investigation ensued and the case was presented to a grand jury, which on Monday indicted Glenn for murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Glenn is being held at the Middle River Regional Jail.
