wtjuWTJU 91.1 FM and Lifeview Marketing present the second annual Charlottesville-Albemarle Black Business Expo on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2-9 p.m. at the IX Art Park, 522 2nd Street SE in Charlottesville.

The Black Business Expo supports and celebrates local black-owned businesses. It is a FREE event designed to celebrate and encourage the success of black-owned businesses locally and beyond.

Business owners and managers are invited to attend business workshops and a Business Pitch competition from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, followed by an expo open to everyone from 5-9 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with black business owners, learn more, and even purchase fantastic items.

“These business owners add to our local economy, and I hope that a lot of folks will come check them out,” said Nathan Moore, WTJU General Manager. “Attendance at the Black Business Expo is not limited to people who are African-American – all are warmly invited to attend this public expo.”

The Black Business Expo on September 22 coincides with WTJU’s Freefall concert series at the IX Art Park, with live musical entertainment all afternoon. Starting at 6:45 p.m., independent reggae artist Mighty Joshua enthralls audiences by opening minds and activating bodies through song.

“Mighty Joshua shares his love of reggae music and culture with tremendous performances for the masses. He is truly an amazing showman making amazing music.” said Moore.

Business owners can still register for the Black Business Expo. Email [email protected] with questions or to reserve a booth.

The Black Business Expo is sponsored by WTJU 91.1 FM, IX Art Park, Lifeview Marketing, UVA’s Office of Diversity & Equity, Community Investment Collaborative, and more.
