Augusta County, Staunton and Waynesboro are under a Winter Weather Advisory Saturday with a forecast of sleet and freezing rain.
The National Weather Service has the region under an advisory beginning at 4 a.m. and running through 1 p.m.
The precipitation is expected to begin as sleet early Saturday morning before transitioning to freezing rain near daybreak.
The AccuWeather.com forecast for the area has temperatures getting above the freezing mark around 10 a.m. and rising throughout the day to a high of 43 degrees.
The forecast for Sunday looks much brighter, with a projected high temperature of 64 degrees and a 30 percent chance of rain, mainly in the morning hours.
