Drivers using parts of Interstate 81 and Interstate 66 should be alert for mobile left-lane closures on Saturday, April 5. This will accommodate a Virginia Department of Transportation mapping vehicle, along with several escort trucks for safety and traffic control.
The closures will begin at first light on I-81 northbound at the Augusta-Rockingham county line, and continue east on I-66 into Fauquier County. The vehicles will then return to their start point by using I-66 westbound and I-81 southbound. This mobile operation should finish by 1 p.m. Saturday. The vehicles will travel about 40 miles an hour, but some traffic delays are possible.
