Gypsy Hill Park road closed from entrance to armory March 26

stauntonThe City of Staunton Horticulture Division will be closing the Gypsy Hill Park road from the west entrance from Poplar Street to Deaver Drive behind the Armory from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday to remove three hazardous trees from the park.

Work is planned to begin at 7 a.m. and involves bringing a crane to take down the American Beech tree near Kiwanis field and a log truck to remove large logs.

The other trees to be removed are the ash above Jerry May Field and a Norway maple near the bandstand area.
