Fishburne wrestler Daniel May wins state title

May state champFishburne Military School senior Daniel May of Stafford, Va., won a VISAA State Championship for wrestling this weekend in Richmond.

In addition to earning the state championship for his weight class, May was also voted VISAA Wrestler of the Year. He is now preparing for the National Prep Wrestling Championships on Thursday and holds a current record of 52-1. He is Fishburne Military School’s first state champion since 1993 and only the third one in school history (the first was in 1973).

May has been appointed to the United States Merchant Marine Academy, where he hopes to continue his wrestling career.
