Commonwealth Transportation Board awards operations center contract to Serco

vdot logoThe Commonwealth Transportation Board today voted to award Serco Inc. the Transportation Operations Center and Statewide Advanced Traffic Management Systems contract to operate the state’s five transportation operations centers and manage the Safety Service Patrol. The six-year contract is worth $355 million.

The Virginia Department of Transportation’s Transportation Operations Centers are located in Northern Virginia, Richmond, Hampton Roads, Salem and Staunton.
