augusta countyThis month, SmartAsset, a New York financial technology company, named Augusta County one of the smartest places in Virginia for home-buyers to get a mortgage.

The second annual “Best Places to Get a Mortgage” report ranked Augusta County fourth among the various locations in the state.  The study compares the following: mortgage rates, average five-year borrowing costs, property taxes and the likelihood of mortgage approval by county.

“This report proves what we experience living in Augusta County,” said Amanda Glover, Director of Economic Development. “When you combine our mortgage rating and our low real estate property tax, Augusta County offers a fantastic opportunity for home ownership along with a strong quality of life,” said Glover.
