emmett-hangerThe Board of Directors of the Virginia League of Conservation Voters recently honored State Sen. Emmett Hanger (R-Mount Solon) for his stewardship of Virginia’s natural resources.

Sen. Hanger was first elected to the Senate of Virginia in 1996. As chairman of the Senate’s Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and Natural Resources, Hanger and his committee hold the fate of a large portion of the bills in which the conservation community is interested.

Hanger earned both a bachelor of science degree and MBA from James Madison University. He was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1983 and has served in the Senate of Virginia since1996.

The Virginia League of Conservation Voters is the statewide nonpartisan political voice of Virginia’s conservation community, dedicated to promoting resource conservation, balanced growth, and clean renewable energy.
