Get the correct posture of the body

How is bad posture caused?

The bad posture is caused when you are having an excess of body weight and it is preventing you to keep the body in the correct posture. It could also be due to pregnancy as with the baby bump, it is really difficult to maintain the right posture and sometimes your high heels prevent you from having correct posture.

Side effects of bad posture

The bad body posture for a long time makes the person bear extra stress on the muscles and ligaments resulting in the stressed body. The best way of improving the posture is to do exercises but in the present day busy schedule it is quite impractical.  Correct sitting, standing and walking posture

  • Sitting posture: In a good sitting posture, you have to fix your feet firmly on the ground with your knees and hip bents at the angle of 90 degree from the ground. Your shoulder should roll back and down to the extent that your shoulder should move from back. You should keep pelvis bone gripping it and tilting it forward. Your ear, shoulder and hip should come in a straight line.
  • Standing posture: The correct posture of standing is when you have your ear, shoulder, ankle and hip in the same line. The gap between the two feet should be wide apart from the hip. Your knees should not only be bended but locked too. The spine or the backbone should be straight with shoulder pulled back and then down. The high raising chin helps in fixing the posture issues of the body.
  • Lying correct position: The best lying position is when you sleep on your back with pillow under the head to keep the cervical spine in the neutral position. It is advisable not to sleep on your stomach and if you are in habit of sleeping on the sides then you should keep the pillow in between your knees to have the correct posture.
