Are you ready for another jam-packed year of business trips during 2020?

Not without checking out these 10 tip-top tips business travel tips you aren’t.

  1. Buckle up

If you’re looking for a way to keep your shirts looking sharp and stylish, placing belts inside the collars (during the packing stage of your trip) ensures that they remain stiff for the duration of your trip.

  1. Get a business travel credit card

A business travel credit card is a worthwhile investment if you travel regularly because they come with perks such as free lounge access and seat upgrades. The best ones also allow you to collect points or miles which can be used to cover travel expenses.

  1. Be ‘appy

Time is money when you’re travelling for business, so it’s worth installing some travel apps to help you stay on schedule and avoid common travel pitfalls.

  1. Be comfortable

As a corporate flyer you might think that the best outfit for flying is a suit. Wrong. Sure you’ll look good in one, however, it’s better to opt for more comfortable clothing such as jeans and a loose top, then change into your professional attire when you arrive.

  1. Book your parking online

We live in a digital age where pretty much anything can be purchased online for a fraction of the price. So when it comes to airport parking, use a parking comparison site such as Looking4.com to find parking – it has great deals for hubs in Australia, Europe and North America.

  1. Be queue savvy

If you want to avoid a long wait at security, opt for the line with the most fellow business travellers in it – they’re pros at flying, so are less likely to hold up the line than a family with young children.

  1. Live out of your suitcase

If you know you’ll be heading home or to a new hotel in a couple of days, don’t bother unpacking everything – this is how you end up losing things. It’s better to unpack only what you need.

  1. Use airport facilities

Airports have some great facilities which are particularly beneficial to business travellers. Take airport lounges for example, they’re a great place to grab a bite to eat, relax, get into a positive mindset or do some last-minute business prep.

  1. Pack items that help you sleep

A good night’s sleep is everything when you’re on a working trip. So pack items such as a pillow, headphones and eye mask to help you get some shut eye whilst you’re on the plane or at your hotel.

  1. Find time for pleasure

Just because you’re travelling for business, it doesn’t mean there’s no time for pleasure too. So next time you head off on business, check out a travel site such as TripAdvisor and find something fun to do in between meetings.

Follow these 10 tip-top travel tips and your 2020 business trips will be better than ever!
