Waynesboro Generals blast Staunton Braves, 13-1, take over second in Valley League
Griffin Krieg and three relievers combined on a two-hitter, and the Waynesboro Generals pounded out 16 hits against six Braves pitchers, in a dominating 13-1 win over Staunton in front of a season-high 975 fans at Kate Collins Field Saturday night.
Krieg (3-0) struck out four and walked one in five innings of two-hit ball. Cole Gruber, Garrett Russini and Kyle Pitts each had three hits for the Generals, and Mike McClellan had two hits and three RBI for Waynesboro, the defending Valley League champs.
Generals hitters also worked Staunton pitching for seven walks.
