Wanted man turns himself in to Waynesboro Police

Dovel Christopher Jay2A man wanted in a Feb. 12 domestic assault who family feared was suicidal has turned himself in to Waynesboro Police.

Christopher Jay Dovel, 20, turned himself in on Tuesday to surrender on outstanding charges and to dispel the idea that he was suicidal.  He had been staying at a homeless refuge in Petersburg since mid-February, he told police today.

Dovel is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
