Virginia toddler dies in hot car

hot carA 17-month-old boy died in a hot car today in Goochland County after his father unknowingly left him in his SUV and went to work. He thought he had dropped him off at daycare.

Virginia ranks #10 in the nation in child hot car deaths with 26 fatalities since 1997. This is the 3rd child to die in a hot car in Virginia this year. On May 10, 2018, 5-month-old twins died in a hot car after they were left by their father in Chesterfield, VA.

  • + 1 possible death in Waterford, CT on  5/3/18
  • + 2 possible deaths near Kearney, MO on 7/4/2018

(waiting on autopsy to confirm cause of death for the above cases)
