The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for much of the Shenandoah Valley and Central Virginia that will be in effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday into 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Winds are expected to be sustained 20-30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph primarily among the ridgetops.
With heavy rain in the forecast for the next two days, the winds could cause scattered tree and power line damage and present difficulties to drivers of high-profile vehicles.
