Kaine to hold roundtable with Northern Shenandoah Valley Substance Abuse Coalition

Contributors

Tim KaineU.S. Sen. Tim Kaine will hold a virtual discussion with the Northern Shenandoah Valley Substance Abuse Coalition on Tuesday to address the rise in reported overdoses in the region since the start of the COVID-19 lockdown.

Tuesday’s video conference is a follow up to Kaine’s discussion last fall with members of the NSVSAC and community leaders in Winchester.

During the video conference, they will discuss the impacts of COVID-19 on substance use and recovery in communities across Virginia.

Earlier this month, Kaine urged House and Senate leadership to increase the federal investment for state, local, and tribal governments and treatment providers who are leading our nation’s response to the ongoing opioid and substance use epidemic.
