Bridge Progressive Arts InitiativeThis October in the Belmont Neighborhood Gallery, The Bridge announces BEYOND: Virginia’s Enduring Exploration of The Mind.

Half mini-museum and half art exhibit, BEYOND showcases the powerful, historic, and ongoing exploration of human consciousness occuring in Central Virginia within organizations such as The Monroe Institute, The Association for Research and Enlightenment, The University of Science and Philosophy, and Yogaville.

Working with various organizations, The Bridge and several artists have created an enlightening exhibit with works of art to creatively bring to life a range of concepts including reincarnation, out of body experiences, past lives, altered states of consciousness, and the mind’s relationship to the body.

“Virginia really has a compelling confluence of thought, and a diversity of approach to exploring the nature of human consciousness,” director Alan Goffinski said. “This exhibit is all about providing an opportunity for us all to learn more about the fascinating things happening in our own community and maybe even open our minds to some new intriguing concepts.”

Artists and organizers include Kathryn Wingate, Sarah Bachman, Kristie Wood, Dave Gibson, and Renée Reighart.

The exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, Oct. 4, from 5:30 pm to 9:30pm and runs through the month of October.
