Update: Friday, 11:13 a.m. Bridge deck resurfacing work will continue as usual, with alternating I-64 eastbound lane closures Monday through Friday, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. No Saturday closure will occur.

Original Report: The Virginia Department of Transportation will close Interstate 64 at mile marker 114 in eastern Albemarle County from 11 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday to perform maintenance work to bridges that span Route 637 (Dick Woods Road).

During the closure, motorists will be detoured using the off-ramp at exit 114 (Ivy) and directly back to the interstate via the on-ramp. Route 637 will be reduced to one lane with traffic flagged through the work zone. Virginia State Police will be on-hand to assist with traffic coordination.

Motorists should expect minor delays and may wish to use Route 250 (Ivy Road) as an alternate route.

Updates and other real-time travel information can be found on the 511 Virginia website, the free VDOT 511 mobile app or by calling 511
