Ellen Arthur, a retired attorney and Rockbridge County farm owner, was the only candidate to file for the Democratic Party nomination for the 24th District House of Delegates seat currently occupied by Republican Ben Cline by the deadline of May 18.
The 24th District Democratic Committee is planning to hold a caucus on Saturday at the Howard Johnson Inn, 2836 N. Lee Hwy., Lexington, to nominate her by acclamation as the Democratic candidate in the November 3 election.
All Democrats who are registered voters in the 24th District are welcome to participate.
Doors to the caucus will open at 11 a.m. and close at noon.
