sam rasoulDel. Sam Rasoul (D-Roanoke City) announced today that he will run for reelection in Virginia’s 11th District in the House of Delegates.

Rasoul will seek the Democratic party’s nomination early next year.

“There’s not a day I look around and fail to see someone in need of help,” Rasoul said. “My mission in life and in elected office is to help as many people as possible, so that is why I am seeking reelection to the House of Delegates. There is still a lot of work to be done to shape policy and take initiative to improve the lives of people in Roanoke and across the Commonwealth. Serving and empowering the people of the Roanoke Valley is a privilege I take seriously. I want everyone to feel like they have a voice and a place at the table,” said Rasoul.

Rasoul is in his second term in the Virginia General Assembly, during which he has placed fair redistricting, healthcare access, and early childhood development among his top priorities. Raised in the Roanoke Valley, Rasoul is a small business owner. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of a non-profit healthcare firm prior to being elected to the House of Delegates and currently runs a consulting company focused on organizational change.
