Culpeper VDOT District Traffic Alerts: Feb. 2-6

road-work-headerThe following highway work is scheduled; weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. Items in italics contain new or updated information.

Albemarle County

Interstate 64 – Installation of communications conduit in median. Left shoulder closed in both directions from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday from mile marker 107 (Crozet exit) to mile marker 94 in Augusta Co. Motorists should keep right and use caution approaching the work zone. Anticipated completion July 2015.

Routes 20, 665, 717, 719, 810 – Trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Routes 29, 654 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.

Routes 53, 250, 635 – Debris removal. Motorists should obey traffic controls.

Routes 600, 630, 633, 634, 637, 639, 640, 645, 646, 674, 678, 723, 735, 774, 776 – Machining of gravel roads. Motorists should obey traffic controls and expect minor delays.

Route 616 (Black Cat Road) – Replacement of bridge over Buckingham Branch Railroad. Road closed at the bridge with traffic detoured via Route 250 (Richmond Road). Anticipated completion Oct. 15.

Route 637 (Dick Woods Road) – Replacement of bridge over Ivy Creek. Road closed at the bridge with traffic detoured via Route 677 (Bloomfield Road) and Route 250 (Ivy Road). Anticipated completion Aug. 4.

Routes 751, 787 – Street sweeping. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Route 781 (Sunset Avenue Ext.) – Shoulder repair and ditching. Motorists should be alert for mobile work zone and construction equipment entering and exiting the highway.

Route 810 (Browns Gap Turnpike) – Bridge repair field inspections. Flagging will occur at bridge locations between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

 

Town of Culpeper

Routes 15/29 Business, 229 – Construction of roundabout at intersection. One lane of roundabout is now open. Intermittent lane closures on Route 15/29 Business and Route 229 will occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Motorists should obey traffic controls and proceed with caution through the work zone.

 

Culpeper County

Routes 601, 606, 608, 617, 619, 624, 626, 640, 661, 662, 683, 696, 701, 709, 710, 721, 723 – Machining of gravel roads. Motorists should obey traffic controls and expect minor delays.

Routes 625, 640, 685, 633, 706 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.

 

Fauquier County

Routes 211 eastbound, 605, 626, 628, 661, 691 – Shoulder repair and ditching. Motorists should be alert for mobile work zone and construction equipment entering and exiting the highway.

Routes 626, 628, 631, 632, 651, 673, 674, 688, 692, 694, 710, 712, 713, 732, 737, 739, 743, 761, 780 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.

Routes 637, 673, 748 – Trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Route 648 (Ebenezer Church Road) – Machining of gravel roads. Motorists should obey traffic controls and expect minor delays.

Route 651 (Sumerduck Road) – Replacement of bridge over Sumerduck Run. Road closed with traffic detoured using Route 17 (Marsh Road) to Route 634 (Courtneys Corner Road) and back to Route 651. Anticipated completion April 27.

Route 1208 (Marshall Street) – Pipe replacement. Motorists should obey traffic controls and expect minor delays.

 

Fluvanna County

Route 6 (East River Road) – Replacement of the Rivanna River bridge. Temporary lane closures may occur, with traffic controlled by flaggers. Motorists should be alert for traffic controls as they approach the area. Anticipated completion Nov. 20.

Route 6 (West River Road) – Replacement of the Hardware River bridge. Temporary lane closures may occur, with traffic controlled by flaggers. Anticipated completion Aug. 14.

Routes 15, 696 – Shoulder repair and ditching. Motorists should be alert for mobile work zone and construction equipment entering and exiting the highway.

 

Greene County

Route 33 (Spotswood Trail) – Trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Routes 601, 614, 628, 632, 634, 637, 638, 642, 676 – Machining of gravel roads. Motorists should obey traffic controls and expect minor delays.

Louisa County

Routes 605, 613, 619, 626, 635 – Shoulder repair. Motorists should be alert for mobile work zone and construction equipment entering and exiting the highway.

Routes 617, 640 – Machining of gravel roads. Motorists should obey traffic controls and expect minor delays.

 

Madison County

Route 231 (N. Blue Ridge Turnpike) – Replacement of bridge over Mulatto Run. Road reduced to one lane with two-way traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals. Through late March, blasting operations may occur on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will require a traffic stop of up to 15 minutes. Expect delays. Anticipated completion Dec. 18.

 

Orange County

Routes 231, 608, 650 – Pipe replacement. Motorists should obey traffic controls and expect minor delays.

Routes 603, 605, 617, 622, 623, 630, 639, 647, 652, 654, 655, 667, 671, 681, 682, 684, 685, 689, 692, 698,716, 729, 731, 733, 735, 736, 750 – Machining of gravel roads. Motorists should obey traffic controls and expect minor delays.

Routes 608, 617 – Shoulder repair. Motorists should be alert for mobile work zone and construction equipment entering and exiting the highway.

Routes 612, 619, 643, 651, 669 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.

 

Rappahannock County

Routes 600, 612, 619, 622, 626, 632, 637, 649, 653, 673 – Machining of gravel roads. Motorists should obey traffic controls and expect minor delays.

Routes 604, 607, 616, 618, 637, 640, 642, 643, 645, 680, 707 – Trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Routes 615, 616, 617, 618, 621, 626, 729 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.
