Augusta County supervisor resigns

augusta countyBeverley Manor Supervisor Terry Kelley is resigning his seat on the Augusta County Board of Supervisors.

The news was announced today in a press release from the county, which did not list a reason for Kelley’s resignation.

The Code of Virginia provides a process for filling vacancies on the Board of Supervisors. The Board will be submitting to the Circuit Court a “writ for a special election” on a date to be determined.

The Board will also be selecting an interim supervisor and interested candidates are encourages to submit resumes and letters of interest to serve as interim supervisor for the Beverley Manor Magisterial District.

The Board will accept applications between now and Dece. 14 at 5 p.m.
