storylogo2Can Virginia Tech live another day at the ACC Tournament? Yes, the Hokies can, but they’re going to need another big effort from Jalen Hudson.

The freshman isn’t going to need to score 32 points for Tech (11-21, 3-16 ACC) to upset Miami (20-11, 10-8 ACC) tonight, but he can’t put up something in the single digits, either.

On the flip side, the ‘Canes aren’t going to shoot 15-of-25 from three as they did in their 82-61 win in Blacksburg on Saturday, either. Miami shoots 36.4 percent from the bonusphere for the season. Doing math from Saturday’s box, that would have put UM closer to 9-of-25 from three, 18 less points on the board, much closer game.

What impact will Kennedy Meeks being out have on UNC? It’s not easy making up for losing a 12-and-8 guy like Meeks in the post.

Boston College (13-18. 5-14 ACC) comes in as confident as a team with five conference wins can be, with four of them coming in a row here at the end of the season.

Carolina (21-10, 11-7 ACC), at its best, bludgeons opponents in the paint. Now the Heels are a bit thinner inside.

Blue, then Red: UNC fans will no doubt fill the Greensboro Coliseum for the afternoon session with the Tar Heels in the second game. Meaning the place is going to feel like a practice court for the first half of the Florida State-Clemson opener at noon.

Then you can bet that NC State fans will pack the Coliseum for the night session with State playing the first game. Meaning the arena will feel more like a party that people are leaving as the nightcap plays out.
