Chris RunionRepublican Chris Runion’s campaign for the 25th House of Delegates raised more than $40,000 in the first seven days since he announced his candidacy.

“When Chris announced that he was running for the 25th House of Delegates District, friends, family, and community leaders from across the 25th district began reaching out to ask how they could help,” said Cody Hanshaw, Runion’s campaign manager. “What we are seeing is a strong campaign that will be able to compete in the general election where the Republican majority in the House of Delegates is at stake and a campaign that clearly has enthusiastic support from members of this community.”

Over $40,000 raised in seven days is one-fourth of the $165,000 that Delegate Steve Landes raised in the entire 2017 election year, a strong position in its own right. The first and only financial reporting deadline of the primary campaign will be March 31st.

“Chris is generating the broad-based enthusiasm and excitement that Republicans must have in order to raise funds, activate volunteers, and wage an aggressive campaign in the general election in order to keep and help expand the Republican majority in the Virginia House of Delegates,” Hanshaw said. “Given the extreme agenda being driven by House Democrats, there is too much to lose to not take this election year seriously.”
