Rockingham County Fair announces Lady Antebellum as opening night concert headliner

Lady AntebellumThe Rockingham County Fair Association announced today that Lady Antebellum will perform on opening night of the Fair August 17 as part of the “Wheels Up 2015 Tour.”

“We are beyond excited to be able to bring a stellar act like Lady A to the Rockingham County Fair,” says Jeff Ishee, Fair Association general manager.

Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, the band’s members, will be performing their top hit songs including “Bartender,” “Downtown,” “Need You Now,” “Just a Kiss” and “I Run to You.” Ishee said the overall stage production and light show as part of the “Wheels Up Tour” will be like none ever seen in the Shenandoah Valley.

One of the most highly sought-after groups in the country music industry, Lady Antebellum has received multiple nominations for the 2015 CMT Awards, the fan-voted award show scheduled to air live from Nashville on June 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET. They have been the recipient of numerous awards from the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association, and others. Their music video “Need You Now” has been viewed on YouTube 109 million times.

Opening for Lady Antebellum at the Rockingham County Fair will be country/Southern rock group A Thousand Horses, whose mega-hit “Smoke” hit #1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart* in early June. Rolling Stone Country hailed A Thousand Horses as the best up-and-comer at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. The band is described as a fresh fusion of country and Southern rock – a hybrid of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, and Black Crowes.

The Fair Association announced in late April that legendary country music group Alabama and the iconic Southern Rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd will perform on Tuesday and Wednesday nights of Fair week respectively. It could not, however, release the name of the Monday night concert headliner due to contractual obligations. As of today, June 8, those restrictions are lifted.

Tickets for the Lady A concert go on sale Friday, June 12 at 10 a.m. Online ticket sales will be available 24/7. Phone sales at 1-800-514-3849 are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
