shenandoah universityShenandoah University quarterback Hayden Bauserman has earned the Lanier Award as the top NCAA Division II/III/NAIA player in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Bauserman accepted the award Wednesday evening at the TD Club of Richmond banquet in which he was also honored as the TD Club of Richmond Offensive Back of the Year.

Bauserman, the 2018 ODAC Offensive Player of the Year, was selected in a vote of media members across the commonwealth and is the first SU player to be named as the Lanier Award winner. He is the 10th ODAC player to be selected since the award started in 2004 and the first since 2014.

The Woodstock, Virginia native led the nation this season with 355 completions in 555 attempts for 3832 yards and 43 touchdowns. He was a three-time ODAC Player of the Week honoree this fall, earned first team All-ODAC honors for the third straight year and was named second team All-Region by D3football.com.

The four-year starter finished his career with 1093 completions in 1768 attempts for 12475 yards and 132 touchdowns. That last mark leads all active NCAA players.

Bauserman is also a finalist for the Gagliradi Award for the top player in Division III. That award will be announced Friday.
