Overnight lane closures on Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County begin July 29

interstate 81Motorists using Interstate 81 northbound in Rockbridge County can expect alternating lane closures during overnight hours for about six weeks beginning Sunday, July 29. These traffic restrictions are for milling, paving and line-painting from mile marker 176.9 to 180.6.

The I-81 northbound lane closures are scheduled for Sunday to Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. through September 7. This paving work includes the northbound on- and off-ramps at exit 180 (Natural Bridge), but the ramps will remain open.

All work is weather permitting.
