Staunton Senior Center Director Lynn Harris received great news as she shopped for supplies for volunteers to use during Day of Caring on Sept. 11. Jeff Baska, assistant store manager at the Staunton Lowe’s, agreed to provide 22 bags of soil, approximately $145 worth of soil, gratis toward the side yard project.
Volunteers through United Way of Greater Augusta will use the soil to show members how to upgrade their raised beds, as well as cover the 12×33-foot yard for future planting. SSC is very grateful to Lowe’s for its donation and to UWGA for bringing volunteers!
