Sixty years ago they were members of the Rose Marie Quartet. Today they are Driftwood. Bunny and Rose appeared on the scene today at Staunton Senior Center after sixty years of putting away their saxaphone and drums. The two are sister-in-laws and were accompanied on stringed instruments by Bunny’s daughter Terry and a man named Sandy, who by the way are members of the second group that played at SSC called Willow Creek.
If this all seems very complicated, it’s not! What it comes down to is that members and staff were treated to excellent music from the 20’s and 30’s before and during lunch and then fantastic blue grass music during the second half of lunch and afterwards. Willow Creek has played previously at Staunton Senior Center, even entertaining at a past volunteer appreciation. Keep your eyes open for future bookings with Driftwood and Willow Creek on the SSC activity calendar as well as lots of other great musicians who share their talents at the Center!
