The annual Shenandoah Valley Grandstand Managers’ banquet will be held on Friday, May 8, at the Johnny Appleseed restaurant in New Market. Bob Douglas, president of the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League will be the featured speaker. Lucas Jones, the new manager of the New Market Rebels, will also give a preview of the 2009 squad.
The banquet is open to everyone. Cost is $19 for students, $23 for Grandstand Manager members and Rebel host parents, and $25 for non-members. Contact George Rogers at 540.856.4008 for more information. The doors open at 6 p.m.; the cash bar opens at 6:15 p.m. The banquet will begin at 7 p.m.
