Twenty East Rockingham Senior Center members were eager to prepare for Valentine’s Day a bit early as Ashton and Derek from the Rockingham County Recreation Department offered a paper wreath craft workshop on January 23.
Members were provided with colorful strips of scrapbook paper and folded the strips into heart shapes, stapled them and then taped nine together to form a cute and colorful heart shaped wreath. As a finishing touch, crafters could choose red or pink ribbon which could be attached for hanging.
The Rockingham Recreation Department partners with the ERSC in providing crafts and/or entertainment for Center members nearly every month. On February 28, a special program entitled, “Women in the Homefront in the Civil War will be performed by Nita Gibson and Nancy Hess. This special program was arranged by Ashton Rawley of the Rockingham Recreation Department.
